My Trench

So in my last post I said I was going to stop buying things I didn't need and just focus on things that I really really wanted. I also said I wanted a new trench coat. Old habits die hard because I already have a perfectly good trench coat and therefore I was contradicting myself because it is obviously something I don't really NEED.

However, my trench isn't the classic trench. I bought it at Anthropolgie 4 years ago. I remember I was either going to buy a classic trench in a navy color or this one and I decided to go for the flashy one. I think I really liked it when I first bought it, but then I felt like I was wearing a shower curtain. However, I do bust it out every Spring so I have gotten plenty of wear out of it. When I tried it on today I actually liked it a lot more than I have in previous years. I also changed up the belt to "refresh" the look.

What do you guys think? Is it "shower curtainy"? Should I invest in a plain tan one or just save my money?

So cute...I like that you switched up the belt, it makes the coat look way more fashion forward.

You can never go wrong with a classic trench, but right now I say save your money. This one is wonderful, in my opinion. :)

This coat is great! I love the piping throughout the coat and the a-line skirt effect it has going on.

I think adding the belt was a great idea as Amy said, it does give it a fresh new look.

Oh wow how original! I can't say I've ever seen anyone wearing a patterned trench. So sweet for spring!

P.S. Just a thought: if you find yourself unable to wear it as much as a plain trench, consider taking the sleeves off and making it a more versatile vest!

You look fantastic. No, it's not traditional, but you will stand out in a sea of basic trench coats!

I love it! It's so unique, and a stand out piece! I say stay with this instead of a classic trench.

I like it!! I think the floral print is cute for spring, and definitely different -- a great way to brighten up any outfit a smidge.

I'd say to also save up for a classic khaki/tan trench as well, just because it would be in style for forever.

I LOVE that pattern, it screams spring. I think the piping accents pull it together.

holy cute! That coat is fantastic! Normally I'd be all for a classic trench coat but that one stomps on all my trench coat rules, too cute. I like it better with the new belt you added!

Oh my god! I LOVE that trench! I really like it with that belt you added, too! A plain tan one is definitely more of the classic look, but that one has way more personality! I say save your money!

I think it is super cute. I say keep it AND get a tan one. The tan one you will be able to wear year-round.
